Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma has taken the IPL by storm this season, smashing 41 sixes and breaking Virat Kohli’s record for the most sixes by an Indian in tournament history. Abhishek’s Explosive Performance

In SRH’s recent four-wicket win over Punjab Kings, Abhishek hammered a blistering 28-ball 66. His total run tally for the season stands at an impressive 467, with a strike rate of 209.41, the highest of any batsman in the ongoing tournament.

With 41 sixes this season, Abhishek has surpassed Virat Kohli’s previous record of 38 sixes set in 2016. Kohli, with 37 sixes this season, follows closely behind.

Praise from the Cricketing World

Pat Cummins: “Abhishek is amazing. I wouldn’t want to bowl to him. It’s scary as he plays with freedom, not only against pacers but also against spinners.”

Virender Sehwag: “I love his fearless approach. He has played an excellent knock again. What has impressed me the most is his consistency. With a youngster, you don’t expect it. Yes, they would perform in one or two games but Abhishek has been consistent throughout the tournament and has maintained his strike rate as well. Not many players can hit 28-ball 66. He is leading the six-hitting chart as well. He looks stylish as well.”

Guidance from Brian Lara

Abhishek credits much of his success to the guidance he received from batting legend Brian Lara, who has previously been involved with the franchise. “I have done some work with him, he’s in touch. That’s helping me now,” said Abhishek.

Consistency and Confidence

Abhishek’s latest fifty came off 21 balls, the slowest of his three half-centuries this season, yet still showcasing his aggressive style. His previous two fifties came off 16 balls against Mumbai Indians and 19 balls against Lucknow Super Giants.

“My days are going good so I should utilize it for my team. I wanted to contribute as the target was big today. During Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I was clear about how I was going to play and dominate in the IPL. I’m just waiting for the loose balls, going hard against them, and trying to put the bowlers under pressure,” Abhishek added.

Conclusion

Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking performance and fearless approach have made him a standout player this IPL season. With his consistency and power-hitting, he has set a new benchmark for Indian batsmen in the tournament. As he continues to shine, cricket fans and experts alike eagerly await his next explosive innings.
