YS Sharmila, the leader of the YSR Telangana Party, today landed in major trouble after she assaulted police personnel during her protest against the alleged leak of question papers.
Ms Sharmila, who has been trying to get a strong political identity in Telangana, has been fighting the paper leak issue for some time now. As a part of it, she decided to protest at the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the case.
Telangana police stopped on her way to SIT office and this is when she slapped and pushed the policemen. In the videos, which are going viral on the internet, the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy can be seen slapping a woman constable as she tries to hold Sharmila’s hands and stop her from marching further. She even pushed an officer and argued with him in the Lotus Pond area.
Reacting to the incident, West Zone DCP Joel Davis said that necessary action will be taken against YS Sharmila if the injured policemen raise a complaint against her.
